Pearson Test of English, also known as PTE, is an English language proficiency test of candidates who are not natives of an English-speaking country.
It is an entirely computer-based test. It is scored from 10 points to a maximum of 90 points, at an increment of 1 point. The score report has an overall score, and separate scores are also given between 10 to 90 to each of the skills of – Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing.

The Pearson Tests of English (PTE) Academic can be taken up by anyone who wishes to move to an English-speaking country for international study and immigration purposes. The test taker must be of age 16 or above and must have a valid passport
The PTE exam syllabus is as follows: Speaking and Writing - This section includes a personal introduction, reading given passages out loud, describing images, short answer questions, summarizing given text and essay writing. Reading - The Reading section consists of multiple-choice questions, rearranging passages in sequential order and filling in the blanks. Listening - The Listening section comprises multiple-choice questions, filling in the blanks, dictation, picking the right summary / incorrect word
PTE Academic test format has three components: Part 1: Speaking & Writing Part 2: Reading Part 3: Listening
The total number of hours given to complete the PTE exam is 3 hours
Pearson does not have any restrictions on the number of times a candidate can take the exam.
